What
is there to Do and See?
Queen's Park is located on the site of a converted fairground
and is as old as Stanley Park. Although not as large as Stanley
Park, it features a number of similar attractions, including the
province's first spray park, Rainbow Playland, a petting zoo,
sports and picnicking facilities, and beautifully groomed gardens
to wander through.
A
friendly farmer is on hand to introduce children to dozens of
barnyard animals - rabbits, chickens, goats, calves and pigs.
With a huge playground nearby and picnic fun it can be quite an
enjoyable day! You can schedule a full day in Queen's Park and
really enjoy yourself!
Tips:
1. Please wash your hands thoroughly after touching any animal
or surface and before eating. Little hands can get dirty, particularly
if they're petting animals. There are washrooms nearby, but you
may want to have wipes handy. Kids may not want to leave the scene
to go to the washroom to wash up. But remember, wipes are not
antibacterial, so it is best to wash with soap.
2.
Be prepared for kids to get dirty on wet day or muddy from the
day before a suggestion to bring extra clothes or leave the petting
zoo to just before you leave
3.
I believe there is still a concession stand, but I think it is
only open during the summer months so brings snacks, beverages
and food with you.
4.
Parking is close all around the park, busy days can be hard to
park, go early to get good parking in the summer.
