Location:
Located at Britannia Beach on Highway 99 towards Whistler, 45
minutes from Vancouver, 52 km (32 miles) on the 'Sea-to-Sky' route.
Only an hour from Whistler.
Age
Group:
Babies: Don't make a special trip just with a baby. If the baby
is accompanying an older child, then by all means bring the baby
along. He or she is bound to get something out of the outing
Toddlers: They will have fun running around gold panning and exploring.
Best age 4 and up!
Older children:
Will enjoy a fun and neat learning experience!

Spring Break to Thanksgiving Monday in October.
Open daily from 9:00am to 4:30pm.
Last underground train tour leaves around 4:30 pm daily.

Tickets need to be purchased by 4.15pm.
Winter Season:
Mid October to first Spring Break.
OPEN MONDAY TO FRIDAY FROM 9:00 AM TO 4:30 PM.

What
is there to Do and See?
The Underground Adventure is a safe, fun and educational experience
for everyone! The BC Museum of Mining brings the exciting history
alive with activities, displays and guided underground tours.
Each visit includes:
• A peek into the Historic 1923 gravity fed concentrator
mill, a National
• Historic Site and Provincial Historic Landmark
• Gold panning: You keep the REAL GOLD that you find!
• A guided tour through our underground mining tunnel dating
from 1912
• Mining demonstrations and hands-on activities about fossils,
minerals and building mines
• Museum displays that explore BC mining history
• See a spectacular 235 tonnes ‘Super’ Haul
Truck
In the Regular Season, the underground train ride goes throughout
the day, usually every 40 minutes.
Most visits take approximately 1 1/2 hours. The admission price
is for the entire Museum visit, not just the train ride.
Seating on
the train is general seating. Approximately 30 adults fill a train.
The underground
temperature is 12 C/54 F year round.
In our Regular Season, the underground train ride goes throughout
the day, usually every 40 minutes.

Tips:
1. Bring extra clothes in case they get dirty or wet after panning
for gold!
2. It is recommended that people wear comfortable closed toed
shoes and have a sweater. Even on warm days the sea breeze can
be chilly
3. There is on-site picnic area and cafes are close by.
