Alice
Townley Park
1775 Woodland Drive (@ E 2nd Avenue)
Alice Townley’s
red brick path leads through playground, seating, and lawn areas;
a surprising variety of trees inhabit the park, including ash,
katsura, cherry, and oak. A quick exploration will reveal a small
but lovely mosaic inset in the lawn.
Cambridge
Park
2099 Wall Street (@ Cambridge Street)
This small
park offers a colourful community garden and views of Burrard
Inlet. A path, which is a portion of the Trans Canada Trail, curves
beneath large shade trees.
Garden
Park
1851 Garden Drive (@ E 3rd Avenue)
Garden Park
is tucked into a quiet but friendly neighbourhood and surrounded
by stately street trees. Neighbours of the park enjoy chatting
in the shade, sitting on one of the curved seats surrounding the
children’s wading pool or playing tennis on the courts.

Grandview
Park
1657 Charles Street (@ Commercial Drive)
Always bursting
with activity, Grandview Park is often the site of community activities,
from picnics and play to festivals and concerts. Children love
the colourful spraypark and playground, which is sheltered by
stately old trees.

John
Hendry Park-Trout lake
3300 Victoria
Drive (@ E 15th Avenue)
Beatiful park
(27.4 hectares) situated in East Vancouver with large willow trees,
and peaceful paths that trail around Trout lake. John Hendry park
has multiple facilities that cater to everyone, and even four
legged friends; it has a dog off leash area situated at the north
end of the park. A popular destination, Trout lake is a favourite
outdoor swimming facility is lifeguarded from around Victoria
Day to Labour Day. The magical Illuminaires-Lantern Festival takes
on the lake in early summer. There is also a community centre;
Trout Lake Community Centre, located near Victoria Drive just
south of East 12th Avenue. All ages and ethnic groups are served
here. Facilities on site include an indoor skating rink, fitness
centre, preschool and youth centre. A wide range of programs are
offered including the First Nations Pow Wow and an active seniors
group. The popular East Vancouver Farmer's Market is hosted in
the community centre's parking lot
during the summer and fall seasons. All amenities within walking
distance; shops/restaurants on Commercial Drive, public transportation
(skytrain station), and community
centres/parks.
McGill
Park
2305 McGill Street (@ Garden Drive)
This small
and charming park is an ideal spot to pause on a walk through
the neighbourhood. Find a bench in a peaceful spot and listen
for the faint whistle of a train passing along Burrard Inlet,
or simply enjoy the diverse plantings and colourful mosaics along
the walkways. McGill also has a fine collection of deciduous trees,
including maple, beech, mountain ash, dogwood and dove (Davidia)
trees.
McSpadden
Park
2125 Victoria Drive (@ E 5th Avenue)
McSpadden
is a restful, tree-filled park in the heart of the Grandview-Woodland
neighbourhood. Visitors to the park might like to pause at a bench
along the meandering path, or stop and smell the flowers in the
small community garden.

Oxford
Park
2050 Wall Street (@ Oxford Street)
Oxford is
a small park with several paths connecting all corners. Children
enjoy the playground, and the space includes several pleasant
seating areas under the shade trees. The park was officially named
for its bounding street in January 1991.

Pandora
Park
2325 Franklin Street (@ Garden Drive)
Pandora’s
terraces create several spaces, including open grass fields, shaded
walks and playground, and tennis courts. Old stone walls and stately
trees surround the park.

Salsbury
Park
1806 Adanac Street (@ Salsbury Drive)
Salsbury is
a cozy park with shaded seating and playground areas; a rolling
lawn slopes down to a colourful public walkway. Bring a guitar
or book to spend a relaxing afternoon in this welcoming space.

Templeton
Park
700 Templeton Drive (@ Adanac Street)
Templeton’s
open fields are surrounded by trees and sidewalks, making a very
pleasant place to stroll. Colourful hand-painted tiles, created
by community members, decorate the Templeton Pool building.

Running Track, Soccer Field
Victoria
Park
1415 Victoria Drive (@ Kitchener Street)
Tucked into
a vibrant neighbourhood, Victoria Park is almost always full of
activity. Stop to enjoy a lively game of bocce, or sit quietly
under the trees and listen to the birds. An aquatic mural and
community art stepping stones are just a few of the things that
make this an interesting place to visit.

W.C.
Shelley Park
1500 E 8th Avenue (@ Woodland Drive)
This small
park is a pleasant place to pass through, or stop to rest on a
bench in the little plaza. W. C. Shelley Park offers a children’s
playground and a small open field, as well as a series of pathways
cutting diagonally through the park.

Woodland
Park
705 Woodland Drive (@ Adanac Street)
Woodland Park is an attractive combination of large open spaces
and small garden and recreation spaces. The playground areas and
fieldhouse are sheltered by tall, old trees; be sure to see the
unique totem garden, a collection of native plantings, First Nations
totem pole, and contemporary sculpture.
