Brewers Park
4175 Victoria Drive (@ E 26th Avenue)

Brewers is a diverse park terraced into three areas. A playing field, tennis and basketball courts, and a grassy area with playground and wading pool are separated by tree-lined walkways and stepped plantings. This is a good place to visit if you want to relax in the shade, play a game of tennis, or push your kids on the swings

Cedar Cottage Park

2650 Clark Drive (@ E 11th Avenue)

A small park offering refuge from the busy roads nearby, Cedar Cottage’s rolling lawns are pleasant to walk through. The playground is sheltered by pine trees, with nearby seating to relax with a newspaper or book.

Clark Park
1500 E 14th Avenue (@ Commercial Drive)

Clark Park is full of recreational opportunities, from tennis, basketball, and soccer to paths that wind through a tranquil forest area. The park is crowned with an open field with views of sky, trees, and city.

General Brock Park
2301 Brock Street (@ Baldwin Street)

This welcoming, tree-lined park is a quiet place for an informal game of soccer, or simply a place to rest on the way home. The rolling grassy hills are perfect for daydreaming or enjoying a picnic lunch.

Glen Park
3999 Glen Drive (@ E 24th Avenue)

Grand old horse chestnut trees shelter the east side of Glen Park, a pleasant park to walk around or rest in. The rolling grass areas are often filled will the laughter of children at the playground and adjacent school.

Grays Park
4850 St. Catherines Street (@ E 33rd Avenue)

The winding paths of this charming park lead to a surprising variety of pleasant spaces, including lawns, a bowling green, gardens, playgrounds, quiet seating areas, and sports courts. Make sure to visit the beautifully designed picnic shelter and arbours for a bit of relaxation.

John Hendry (Trout Lake) Park
3300 Victoria Drive (@ E 15th Avenue)

It’s not surprising that John Hendry Park is such a popular destination; tranquil Trout Lake and a wide range of active and passive recreation opportunities create an exceptional setting. The beach area and wildlife habitat around the lake can almost make one forget that that the park is in the city, especially when illuminated with glowing lights at the annual lantern festival.

Jones Park

5350 Commercial Street (@ E 38th Avenue)

Welcomed by flowers and benches, visitors of Jones Park will find a pleasant open space through which to walk. A playground, surrounded by majestic western redcedars, is a popular space for children; the Midtown Bikeway also passes through this park.

Kensington Park
5175 Dumfries Street (@ E 37th Avenue)

On a sunny or a rainy day, a walk around Kensington Park is invigorating. Sports fields open up to views of the misty blue North Shore mountains, and the colourful community centre is always humming with activity.

Kingcrest Park
4150 Knight Street (@ E 26th Avenue)

Just over a grassy hill, Kingcrest’s slopes reveal a park full of curving pathways and open spaces. Rest in the shade of the beautiful linden grove, or enjoy a picnic in the sunshine.

Improvements to this 2.5 hectare park in October 2005 included replacement of the playground, playing field improvements, a new sports court, new picnic area, benches, new paths and additional trees.

Sunnyside Park

1100 E 17th Avenue (@ Inverness Street)

With open grass fields and playground, this quiet park is an ideal place to bring children to play. Others may enjoy walking the gently curving paths or resting under the magnificent branches of the huge plane trees.
