Arbutus
Park
Neighbourhood: Kerrisdale
7601 Arbutus Street (@ SW Marine Drive)
This small park is an open grassy field dotted with oak, maple,
and willow trees that sway in the breeze. In summer, the field
resembles a meadow, dotted with colourful flowers.
Elm Park
5800 Elm Street (@ W 41st Avenue)
Elm Park offers
many recreational opportunities, including lawn bowling, tennis,
and field sports. Several benches offer engaging views of the
park, and many people enjoy strolling under the lovely maple trees
that line the park.
Recreation Facilities: Baseball Diamond, Field House, Lawn Bowling,
Soccer Field, Tennis Court
Fraser
River Park
8705 Angus Drive (@ W 75th Avenue)
One of the
most tranquil and inspiring spots in the area, Fraser River Park
achieves a pleasing balance between natural and designed settings.
Large rolling lawns are perfect for picnicking or flying a kite,
and beautiful views of the Fraser River are available from the
boardwalks that cross restored tidal marshes and snake between
stands of poplar and alder trees. Crab apple and Nootka rose lining
the pathways are reminders of these plants that farmers of the
area once planted along the Fraser River dykes to protect their
land from flooding.

Kerrisdale Centennial Park
5898 Yew Street (@ W 42nd Avenue)
This small
park, surrounding the Kerrisdale Community Centre, offers a quiet
and shaded plaza, small lawn, and children’s playground.
Beautiful rose beds, trees, ferns, and rhododendrons help create
a pleasant sanctuary in the heart of Kerrisdale, an ideal location
for morning tai chi or an afternoon stroll.

Malkin
Park
6001 Balaclava Street (@ W 44th Avenue)
Malkin Park
is a largely forested area that shelters a small field and playground.
Grand cedar and fir trees line the field, making this park a quiet
place for a stroll.

Maple Grove Park
6875 Yew Street (@ W 51st Avenue)
Filled with
tall graceful trees, Maple Grove is a wonderfully tranquil place
for a stroll or picnic. Massive tree stumps scattered through
the park, aesthetic in their own right, are reminders of the temperate
rainforest that once covered much of Vancouver. The outdoor pool
is a popular summertime destination, with people of all ages enjoying
a swim in the sparkling waters.

McCleery Park
6501 Marine Crescent (@ W 49th Avenue
This small
park is the remaining corner of the Fitzgerald McCleery Farm that
once extended south to the Fraser River. The land was farmed until
1956. Now, the space is lined with large trees and offers relaxing
seating spaces for those passing through.
