McLean Park
710 Keefer Street (@ Heatley Avenue)
Surrounded by colourful
houses and filled with the laughter of kids at the spray park
or playground, MacLean reflects the sense of the surrounding community.
The sweetgum trees lining the park put on a beautiful display
in autumn.

Mosaic Creek

1475 Charles Street (@ McLean Drive)
This unique and intricate
park is full of interesting elements. Though small, there are
several secret places to sit and daydream among the flowers, as
well as a freeform play area for children. The most striking feature,
and the one that gives the park its name, is the beautiful mosaic
creek created by community members. This park was named for the
creative community art project that gives this space its most
distinguishing feature.
Oppenheimer Park
400 Powell Street (@ Jackson Street)
This diverse park is
a popular gathering place, with many shaded seating areas, a playground,
and open grassy areas. The colourful mosaics and artworks reveal
the positive outlook and kinship that exist in this neighbourhood.

Strathcona
Linear Park
787 Prior Street (@ Hawks Avenue)
Strathcona Linear Park
adds mystery and charm to an appealing neighbourhood. Paths weave
through plantings, seating spaces, and colourful houses; the park
links two other parks in the Strathcona neighbourhood, Strathcona
and MacLean

This unique park offers
much to its visitors, from skatepark and climbing wall, to community
gardens and sports fields. The heart of the park is a charming
place to rest or play, while the community gardens and pathways
that line the perimeter make for a pleasant stroll.

Thornton Park
1166 Main Street (@ Terminal Avenue)
This grand
park doubles as a gateway to the historic Canadian National Railway
Station, with tasteful entry plazas and beds of colourful flowers.
Thornton Park is home to the Women’s Monument, a memorial
to female victims of violence. Many people enjoy relaxing under
the magnificent trees, including the giant Catalpas with their
glamorous displays of early summer blooms.
