See the Stars at GMS Observatory, next to the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, the observatory is admission by donation and offers public viewings on Friday and Saturday evenings (July 1 to Labour Day), and Saturday evenings (Labour Day to July 1).
Take a Aquabus across false Creek. A small boat that stops at different points around False Creek.
Ride the skytrain and take a ride on the Seabus, there are two terminals: Waterfront in Downtown Vancouver, which connects with buses, SkyTrain, and West Coast Express; and Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver, which connects with an extensive network of North Shore buses. Crossing time is 12 minutes.
Let the kids build in the Adventure Playpark in Coquitlam, and Delta *but make sure they are wearing closed toed shoes and no parents allowed.

Go check out the Greater Vancouver Zoo, make sure to check the feeding schedule before you go so you can see more animals, bring your scooter, inline skates or kids bikes to enjoy the fenced pathways or rent a family pedal bike.
Head to Wildplay in Maple Ridge, they have a younger kids area and older, fun for almost everyone! Ziplining is so much fun.
Head to the waterslides! Bridal falls, Cultus Water & Theme Parks and/or Tsawwassen waterslides now known as Big Splash Waterpark! Also the new affordable Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience in Aldergrove! Go for a drive out to Harrison and check out the Harrison Water Sports Waterpark.
Enjoy a lazy river float close to Vancouver that you have to see to believe. The Alouette River in Maple Ridge is clear and bright and it looks almost as green as the lush forest around it! At the end of your float, you'll arrive at Davidson's Pools and Hot Rocks.
Go to your local fish hatchery and learn all about fish.
Go to Kelowna and visit the Kangaroo Farm.
Head to a trampoline park such as Extreme Air Park, Apex or Get Air.
Jump on the jumbo pillow and enjoy some Apple Cider at Tave Family Farm.
Go mini golfing at Castle Fun Park in Abbotsford or Bear Creek Train in Surrey where you can also ride a train or ride on the mini trains at Burnaby Confederation Park.

Visit the Suspension bridge at Cascade Falls in Mission or Lynn Canyon Park & Suspension Bridge or go to the Caplilano Bridge and go for a hike.
Go to a local Farmer’s Market and meet the local farmers and artisans, some even have an activity for kids to do.
Head to Steveston in Richmond and buy fresh fish and/or prawns right from the boats on the dock and enjoy a stroll around Stevenston Village. Or enjoy food at the many restaurants. Also they now have a shuttle from the skytrain Lansdowne Station directly there for the Summer!

Bring Fish and Chips or a picnic to the beach and enjoy the view or play in the sand.
Take a ferry to Bowen Island or Salt Spring and go exploring.
Bike rides with the family, find some great bike paths.
Small hikes with the family especially to the waterfalls or a river to swim in.
Go fishing, children under 16 years old are required to obtain a license, however there is no fee.
Look for mini crabs under rocks, explore! Look for muscles, hermits, baby fish, sand dollars, possibly starfish and so much more! Bring a bucket to catch them in so you can learn more about them, but be sure to release before you go.
Go pottery painting at a local studio.
Head to Sunpeaks Resort, Whistler or Harrison Hot Springs for the weekend if you can.
Nature Hunt: Have a nature hunt, go to a local park and give the kids a list to find nature items (pick items that are not needed to be picked) to preserve the forest. For younger kids use pictures to help them find the items!

Go to Fort Langley and enjoy the little shops or go to the Fort Langley National Historic Site
