On November 30, 2019 from 12pm to 7pm). Yaletown's eighth annual free-entry alfresco Christmas festival spreads its Yuletide magic on and around Mainland, Hamilton and Davie this year. Crammed with sugar-plum-hugging seasonal cheer, 2019's family-friendly activities include toe-tapping live music, craft and candy workshops, an artisan street market, horse-drawn carriage rides and super-cool ice-carving demonstrations. Look out for costumed characters (including prancing gingerbread figures) and don't forget to meet the great man himself, holding court from noon to 3pm at the North Pole (aka Bill Curtis Square). You won't just be able to snap selfies with Santa, though––the surprisingly jovial Ice Queen will also be on-hand from 3pm to 7pm (photos are free but donations to BC Children's Hospital are greatly appreciated). Fans of the Polar Express should drop by the Roundhouse Community Centre where Vancouver's version––historic steam engine 374––will be decked out in twinkling holiday lights. Free!
